About this Role:

Are you a seasoned professional looking for a challenging position that leverages your technical expertise in ecology?

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role in our consultancy, delivering high-quality ecological assessments and leading fieldwork across diverse Irish habitats.

As a Senior Ecologist, you'll be responsible for managing survey programmes, producing technical reports, and guiding junior ecologists. You'll also have opportunities to contribute to tender writing, service development, and cross-disciplinary collaboration with experts within the wider team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading surveys
  • Delivering technical reports
  • Managing small to mid-sized projects
  • Guiding junior ecologists

Requirements:

  • Third-level qualification in Ecology, Environmental Science, or related field
  • 3–5+ years of experience in ecological consultancy or similar
  • Strong field survey skills and working knowledge of Irish flora and fauna
  • Experience producing ecological impact assessments and technical reports aligned with Irish planning law
  • Good understanding of Irish and EU legislation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage projects independently
  • Full clean EU driving licence

  • CIEEM Associate Membership (or eligibility)
  • Interest in progressing toward Full Membership or Chartership
  • Experience managing field teams and mentoring junior staff
