General Casualty Underwriter Job Description

We are seeking a skilled General Casualty Underwriter to join our team in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced underwriter to expand their knowledge and skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the growth and development of our General Casualty business across all relevant distribution channels. This will involve pre-qualifying accounts, selecting risks within our risk appetite, and expanding new business opportunities with brokers and customers.

  • Support the development and build-out of the Irish Casualty team focused on profitable growth
  • Establish, develop, and expand broker and customer relationships
  • Underwrite Primary and Excess accounts while ensuring appropriate analysis and documentation without sacrificing discipline, diligence, and quality service
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition of our company
  • Be a positive ambassador for the company by demonstrating integrity and leadership in the marketplace

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Casualty Underwriting experience
  • Existing broker and customer relationships, or the ability to develop strong relationships quickly
  • Experience and understanding of policy forms
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, including negotiation and presentation experience
