Project Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of our water network projects.

About the Role:

  • Project Management: Direct and manage the delivery of capital projects, focusing on budget, schedule, and quality output.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Manage and liaise with stakeholders, including technical services providers, internal and external project managers, asset management, asset operations, HSQE, and departments.
  • Procurement: Procure, manage, and direct consultant expertise across a multi-disciplinary set of skills.
  • Construction Planning: Oversee construction project design, estimation, and project planning, including statutory processes, procurement management, and maintenance forecasting.
  • Project Control: Manage project control, including resourcing and service delivery requirements, ensuring consultant supervision and approving payment certificates.
  • Performance Metrics: Produce and approve project delivery plans, contractor plans, cash flow projections, and earned value analysis.
  • Daily Operations: Manage day-to-day construction service providers for capital projects, including conformance and compliance.
  • Close-out Activities: Supervise project close-out activities, including commissioning and handover to operations and maintenance.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Degree qualification in engineering or a related project management discipline.
  • Professional Experience: Experience in managing large or multiple infrastructures, capital projects, or programs, ideally in the water utility sector.
  • Supply Chain Management: Capability to mobilize and manage the supply chain, including design, planning, and construction services.
  • Project/Programme Management Tools: Strong knowledge and experience in project/programme management, contract management, and strategic planning, including the use of tools like Oracle and Primavera P6.
  • Team Leadership: Background in managing a varied team, commercial contract management, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Complex Issue Resolution: Proven track record of dealing with complex issues and communicating complex information to all stakeholders.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business acumen with a financial perspective at the forefront.
  • Digital Literacy: Digitally savvy and able to build lasting client relationships and provide support to strong, motivated teams.
