Dublin, Dublin City, Ireland Amazon Full time

At Amazon, we rely on our Equipment Maintenance Specialists to keep our operations running smoothly. As a key member of our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing equipment across our global network of fulfilment centres.

About the Role

This is a hands-on position that requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail. You will be responsible for carrying out proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipment, including planned repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse.

You will also use the latest tools to maximise equipment effectiveness and uphold all health and safety policies and practices. In addition, you will support the development and progression of on-site apprentices and work on continuous improvement projects to roll out best practices across various EU sites.

A Day in the Life

As an RME Technician, you will be based on-site, allowing you to respond quickly to any machinery issues. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include carrying out planned preventative maintenance to ensure our sites' equipment is working safely and responding promptly to breakdowns.

You will investigate, find, and implement solutions as quickly as possible, making suggestions for long-term improvements along the way. You will also work alongside senior colleagues to undertake day-to-day maintenance tasks like painting and plumbing and liaise with contractors if needed.

About the Team

The RME team at Amazon is technically minded, made up of excellent team players and guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our global network of fulfilment centres.

We handle most aspects of Amazon's technical side, from installing automated packaging systems to overseeing the general maintenance of a site and repairing key distribution equipment. This includes keeping buildings legally compliant, ensuring everyone is safe, and our sites operate at maximum efficiency.

There are many opportunities for progression within the RME team and more widely across Amazon. Our focus is on reducing downtime in Amazon's critical operations sites, so customers receive their orders on time.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need NFQ6 or Solace/Solas level 6 mechanical/electrical/mechatronics qualifications and experience of planned preventative maintenance systems.

You will also need experience in fault finding within MHE/automation systems, interpreting both mechanical and electrical drawings, and conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters. Experience of high voltage switching, sortation machines, bar code scanners, and print and apply machines is highly desirable.
