Bridge Engineering Technician Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Engineering Technician to join our team in Dublin. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil or structural engineering and at least seven years of experience in modelling and drafting of bridge and civil structures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Production of engineering models, drawings and details for various types of bridges, retaining walls, culverts and other civil structures
  • Preparation of conceptual design and detailed design drawings
  • Performance of the role of project technician on multidisciplinary projects
  • Review of steel fabrication drawings and shop drawings
  • Delivery of high-quality engineering drawings in a timely manner
  • Guidance and mentorship of junior colleagues
Requirements:
  • A minimum of a higher certificate in civil or structural engineering (Level 6 in the National Framework of Qualifications) or equivalent
  • A minimum of seven years of relevant experience of modelling and drafting of bridge and civil structures
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, CADS-RC, and structural steelwork detailing
  • Fluent or highly proficient in spoken and written English
  • Flexible, motivated and focused
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality drawings
  • Motivated individual with a strong work ethic
  • Comfortable working in a busy work environment with tight deadlines
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience in 3D modelling using AutoCAD or other suitable software
  • Proficiency in a range of software packages, such as Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks
