Job Overview

The Maintenance Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal functioning of industrial equipment. As a key member of the production team, this individual is responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

This position requires a proactive approach to maintenance, adherence to safety and quality standards, and collaboration with the production team to achieve operational targets. The successful candidate will report directly to the Engineering Manager and be responsible for maintaining equipment performance, meeting targets, and adhering to KPIs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular maintenance and repairs on company equipment.
  • Identify and resolve issues, reporting any defects or concerns that could potentially cause future problems.
  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns and maintain efficiency.
  • Undertake basic electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs of faulty production equipment.
  • Respond to and execute reactive maintenance tasks in an efficient and effective manner, minimizing disruption to business operations.
  • Ensure defects or issues are properly logged and documented.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment compliant with relevant legislation and internal policies.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will have experience with continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Manufacturing or TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and possess excellent communication skills.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance roles.
  • Experience working with high-speed production lines, conveyors, packaging equipment, or automated systems.
  • Proven expertise in electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Prior experience in regulated environments (e.g., food, pharmaceuticals, or automotive) is advantageous.
  • Excellent teamwork and ability to take instruction.
