Design Automation Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Design Automation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering group, you will design and build automation systems that drive the success of our clients' production lines.

Your ideas will be brought to life in a fast-paced environment where innovation and practicality go hand-in-hand. You'll have the opportunity to work on high-profile projects, collaborating with experienced engineers to ensure every design is safe, efficient, and effective.

About the Role
  • You'll be responsible for designing automation systems, focusing on conveyors and labelling using CAD or similar tools.
  • You'll develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) for procurement and assembly, ensuring accuracy and organization.
  • You'll prepare technical drawings, including fabrication drawings, 3D models, and concept sketches.
Responsibilities
  • Work closely with mechanical and electrical colleagues to guarantee every design is feasible, secure, and ready for construction.
  • Support project documentation, including revisions and quality checks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Visit client sites to assess needs, oversee installations, and validate your designs in action.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Prior experience designing automation equipment, such as conveyors, pneumatic systems, or mechanical machinery.
  • Familiarity with CAD software in project environments.
  • Adequate knowledge of mechanical and pneumatic principles, including materials, tolerances, actuators, etc.
Preferred Skills
  • Background in conveyor design or system integration.
  • Basic understanding of electrical controls/PLCs to collaborate with peers.
