Job Title: Automation Engineer

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Automation Specialist to join our team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design and develop automation systems to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements.
  • Create detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget management.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed automation solutions.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of automation systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to automation equipment and software.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on the operation and maintenance of automation systems.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including user manuals, maintenance procedures, and project reports.
Qualifications and Skills
  • National Framework of Qualifications (NQF) level 7 full qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in automation engineering with a proven track record of successful automation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of automation systems, PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation engineering and excellent problem-solving skills. They will be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
