Job Overview:

The role of the CNS Oncology Specialist is to provide expert nursing care to patients with cancer and their families, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. As a specialist, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, ensuring that it meets the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans in consultation with the healthcare team.
  • Provide direct care to patients, including administering medications, treatments, and performing various medical procedures as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including progress notes, medication lists, and test results.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and effective communication.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based practice guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Registered General Nurse license in good standing with the Nursing & Midwife Board of Ireland (NMBI).
  • At least 1 year of post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting, preferably in oncology.
  • Strong clinical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of national strategies in nursing care and recent developments in specialized areas.
