Director of Claims Management

Leads the claims process and performance of the company, ensuring quality service to members and cost effectiveness. Monitors threats, risks, and opportunities across claims functions and drives improvement.
Functional leadership requires overseeing claims operations, monitoring threats and opportunities, and driving continuous improvement. Governance is key, with membership in committees such as the NSEU Executive Committee and Claims Leadership Team. Data analysis is critical, with direct and review of comprehensive analysis to ensure alignment with company and group claims strategy and objectives.
The role involves providing comprehensive claims reports to enable assessment of the performance and development of the companies' claims function. Relationship management includes fostering strong relationships with members and brokers, effectively communicating the company's product offerings and value propositions.
- Serves as a member of the NSEU Executive Committee and other relevant committees.
- Mentors and trains an effective and high-performing claims team.
- Law degree or equivalent.
- Demonstrable competence and experience in mutual P&I or wider maritime industry.
- Knowledge and understanding of P&I, FD&D, and Specialty claims.
- Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills.
