Design Engineer Role

The position of Design Engineer requires a minimum Level 8 Honours Degree qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering and typically applies to candidates with between 3 and 6 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with clients to deliver required designs under the direction of the project manager.
  • Review documents and designs prepared by graduate engineers.
  • Prepare and review preliminary designs, reports, and detailed design drawings and specifications using computer packages.
  • Procure site investigation, building, and civil engineering contracts.
  • Assist project managers in preparing tender documents and assessments.
  • Administer construction contracts to ensure design requirements, project schedules, and budgets are achieved.
Essential Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and aptitude for developing skills in AutoCAD 3D and building information modelling.
  • Capability to develop skills in other software packages such as MicroDrainage, Microsoft Access, ArcGIS, and MapInfo.
  • Working knowledge of construction contracts and relevant software packages.
