Senior Financial Accountant Position

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our organization in Belfast. The successful candidate will have a strong background in process enhancement and a proven track record in financial operations, including month-end reporting.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for mentoring and fostering a high-performance culture within the junior finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and foster a high-performance culture within the junior finance team.
  • Manage month-end close, statutory reporting, and financial consolidations.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, VAT/MTD submissions, and lease accounting.
  • Act as a key contact for internal teams, auditors, and tax authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting cycles.
  • Manage statutory accounts through to sign-off.
  • Maintain the Group lease management system.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Standardize procedures and leverage automation tools to streamline workflows.
  • Support the integration of new systems and processes.
  • Assist with onboarding and aligning newly acquired businesses into existing finance operations.

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant with a minimum of 4 years post-qualified experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of process improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook etc) and ERP systems, with experience optimizing these tools.
