The National Library of Ireland is expanding its team to include a skilled Digital Archivist/Librarian. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about preserving and making accessible the rich cultural heritage of Ireland.
About the RoleThis position supports the library's strategic goal of collecting diverse formats and developing comprehensive processes for acquiring contemporary materials. The successful candidate will enable the library to collect representatively and inclusively, capturing the diversity of Irish experience.
Your Key Responsibilities:- Support the acquisition and management of digital collections
- Develop and implement effective preservation strategies
- Collaborate with IT professionals, librarians, archivists, and software developers to achieve shared goals
- Postgraduate degree in a relevant field such as Information Studies, Computer Science, or Archives and Records Management
- Proven experience in digital archiving, including digitization and preservation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- A dynamic and supportive work environment
