Water Infrastructure Design Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced professional to oversee the design and coordination of water infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and project management, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Manage all aspects of the design process for water infrastructure works, including pipelines, pumping stations, reservoirs, and treatment facilities.
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensuring all outputs meet client specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Review and approve technical drawings, calculations, and design documentation for accuracy and constructability.
  • Liaise with project managers, site delivery teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to integrate design and construction effectively.
  • Undertake design risk assessments, considering all health, safety, and environmental factors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Manage the full design process from early concept and feasibility through to construction handover, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Design Coordination: Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, ensuring all outputs meet client specifications and regulatory standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in water/wastewater infrastructure design and project management.
  • Strong understanding of Irish Water design standards or similar utility requirements.
  • Proficiency with design software such as Auto CAD, Civil 3D, or similar.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
