Lead MRI Service Manager Role

The role requires a highly skilled and experienced radiographer to oversee the MRI service at a leading healthcare facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical leadership to ensure effective, efficient, and patient-centered MRI services.
  • Perform general and complex MRI procedures adhering to current legislation and professional standards.
  • Manage the MRI service daily, ensuring optimal use of resources.
  • Maintain quality standards, customer service, and technical excellence.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing operational policies, protocols, and guidelines. They will also advise on equipment selection, purchase, and upgrades, as well as prepare service plans and monitor their implementation.

The role involves managing consumables efficiently, assessing patient suitability for I.V. injections and MRI safety for implants and foreign bodies, and implementing ongoing MRI safety training for staff.

The Lead MRI Service Manager will also be responsible for upholding patient confidentiality and respect cultural values, monitoring stock levels, and coordinating staff rotation and training.

Requirements:
  • Degree in Radiography or Diploma of The College of Radiographers.
  • Registration with CORU.
  • Minimum 5 years post-qualification MRI experience.
  • Postgraduate MRI qualification recognized by IIRRT.
