Your organisation is responsible for delivering and developing public water and wastewater services nationwide.
We play a vital role in safeguarding Ireland's water resources and enabling sustainable development, operating in conjunction with local authorities and various stakeholders.
Senior Engineering Role
This senior position involves working mainly on-site but also includes an element of hybrid working.
- You will be responsible for carrying out site visits for non-standard new connection applications, performing site assessments, and creating work orders within a given region.
- You will oversee connection requests to the water and wastewater network, working closely with Local Authorities and relevant parties to deliver connection services for customers.
- You will support the delivery of connection-related network reinforcement schemes driven by connection demand, working with counterparts from Capital Delivery, Local Authorities, or third-party service providers.
- You will provide an excellent customer experience through the end-to-end connection process.
- Monitor incoming site inspection requests in relation to non-standard New Connection applications.
- Conduct site assessments in accordance with Health and Safety Policies and Standards, and input requirements into work order.
- Carry out technical and field assessment of the new connections application as required.
- Document results of inspections and approve/close work order as applicable.

Essential Skills and Qualifications
A blend of technical expertise, regulatory awareness, and strong interpersonal skills are essential. A relevant third-level qualification in civil engineering is necessary, along with understanding of planning applications and connection regulations.
Familiarity with GIS systems, asset data management, and field inspection protocols is necessary. Ability to conduct site assessments, prepare Work Orders, and ensure compliance with New Connection Standards is crucial.
A minimum of three years' experience in water, utilities, or similar industries is desirable and relevant experience.
This role will suit a senior engineer coming from a private contractor/developer or consultant practice, looking to progress their career into a client-facing role.
