Senior Mechanical Lead

About the Role:
  • We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Lead to join our team.
  • The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise in MEP installations, design engineering, mentoring, project management, site inspections, and client relations.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Work alongside Project Directors to establish project requirements and deliverables.
  2. Implement successful Mechanical Design Solutions for projects in various sectors.
  3. Prepare detailed reports against agreed design briefs for each of the project stages and for project status updates.
  4. Manage project costs throughout the project, to include preparation of cost reports related to mechanical installations.
  5. Plan deliverables on a weekly basis for Junior Engineers and Technicians to ensure project targets are achieved.
  6. Attend site meetings and carry out site inspections.
  7. Review Contractors Technical Submittals against project works requirements.
  8. Ensure mechanical engineering expertise and knowledge is disseminated, including providing mentorship to junior engineers.
  9. Work alongside other Project Design Engineers and Technicians to ensure designs are fully coordinated.
Ideal Candidate:
  • A minimum of 5 years' consultancy-based design experience on commercial MEP projects.
  • A Level 8 Degree in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, with a recognized qualification for Chartership.
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering related standards, guidance documents, and building regulations applicable within Ireland.
  • Experience designing commercial mechanical projects and working within a design team on commercial building projects.
  • Chartered Engineer status or be in a position to demonstrate core competencies for Chartership within 18 months.
