Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Nurse Manager to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a nurse with strong leadership skills and a passion for elderly care to take on a senior position in a supportive environment.

This role will involve overseeing and managing the day-to-day clinical operations of the nursing unit in the absence of the Home Manager, leading and supervising nursing staff, providing support, mentorship, and clinical guidance, ensuring resident care plans are monitored, reviewed, and delivered in accordance with individual needs, and promoting a safe, caring, and respectful environment for residents and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day clinical operations of the nursing unit in the absence of the Home Manager
  • Lead and supervise nursing staff, providing support, mentorship, and clinical guidance
  • Ensure resident care plans are monitored, reviewed, and delivered in accordance with individual needs
  • Manage staff rosters based on clinical requirements and resource availability
  • Conduct performance reviews and coordinate staff development initiatives
  • Ensure full compliance with NMBI standards, HIQA regulations, and internal policies
  • Promote a safe, caring, and respectful environment for residents and staff
  • Manage incidents, support audits, and implement improvements where needed
  • Maintain open communication with residents, families, and the multidisciplinary team
  • Support the development of junior and newly qualified nurses, fostering continuous learning
Qualifications
  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
  • Minimum 2 years' management or supervisory experience (preferred)
  • Strong clinical knowledge and a proven ability to lead a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine interest in care of the elderly
  • Garda Vetting clearance (or willing to obtain)
  • Formal qualification in gerontology or care of the elderly
  • Familiarity with HIQA standards and quality improvement initiatives
