Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Leader to fill the key leadership position of Director of Nursing.
About the Role
The successful candidate will oversee the nursing department, leading a team of professionals to ensure operational efficiency, compliance with regulatory standards, and a culture of excellence in patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and manage day-to-day nursing operations effectively.
- Lead and mentor a team of skilled professionals to achieve exceptional outcomes.
- Ensure high-quality patient care and operational efficiency through effective management.
- Foster a culture of excellence, quality, and regulatory compliance within the nursing department.
- Support and advise the organization through an on-call arrangement as needed.
- Co-manage and support all departments, including nursing, household, maintenance, and catering staff, to ensure seamless operation.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience as a registered nurse in the last 6 years, specializing in care for the elderly.
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- A post-registration management qualification (QQI Level 6 minimum).
- A postgraduate diploma in Gerontology is desirable.
- A working knowledge of HIQA standards, procedures, and guidelines.
- Excellent Leadership, Organizational, and Communication skills.
- Sound decision-making ability and results-driven performance.
