Job Title: Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled research scientist to conduct a comprehensive study on biomolecular interactions between nanomaterials and living systems.

About the Study:

The selected candidate will characterise nanomaterials in complex media using dynamic light scattering, nanoparticle tracking analysis, differential centrifugal sedimentation, and other techniques.

Mass spectrometry analysis and glycan analysis will also be performed to characterise the corona composition and quantify biological stability over time.

The researcher will develop methods to isolate NP-corona complexes without creating artefacts and aggregation due to isolation technique protocols.

Responsibilities:
  • Biomolecular analysis of biomolecules using proteomics and glycan analysis
  • Physical chemical characterisation of nanomaterials using standard techniques
  • Isolation of nanoparticle-protein complexes using centrifugation or size exclusion chromatography
  • Attending work package meetings with international partners
  • Travel to conferences and consortium meetings across Europe
  • Preparing progress reports and deliverables
  • Contributing to the writing of scientific papers
  • Staying up to date with the latest research findings in literature
Qualifications:
  • PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Nanotechnology, or related fields
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Good knowledge of nanomaterial characterisation sizing techniques (e.g. DLS, DCS, NTA)
  • Hands-on experience in proteomics or glycan analysis
  • Understanding of protein quantification techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
