Construction Site Security Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and professional Construction Site Security Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our construction sites.

  • This is a full-time position requiring 36 hours per week with the ability to work up to 48 hours per week.

You will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing access control for the construction site
  • Coordinating and overseeing traffic management
  • Completing shift activity reports and incident reports during assigned shifts
  • Maintaining a high level of presence and visibility at assigned posts; ensuring proper relief prior to departure
  • Inspecting all access gates; ensuring gates are locked or used by authorized work crews according to Physical Security access control policies
  • Immediately reporting any suspicious observations including holes in or under fences, ladders or objects propped against the fence that could allow access to the site
  • Performing patrols as outlined in the Post Orders
  • Communicating in a manner that is open, honest and responsive; providing information regarding the site and surrounding area as requested by visitors
  • Carrying out specific tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for the assigned site
Requirements
  • Must meet any applicable licensing requirements for Security Officers
  • Must meet requirements for specific skills, certifications or authorisations for the assigned accounts
  • Knowledge of security operations and procedures
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures
  • Ability to track and maintain schedule assignments
  • Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances
  • Good computer skills
  • Strong oral and written communications skills; must read, write, and understand English
  • Strong customer service and service delivery orientation
  • Ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures
  • Ability to be an effective leader and member of project teams
  • Ability to take initiative and achieve results
  • Ability to carry out multiple assignments concurrently
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization
