Job Overview:
- To collaborate closely with Site Engineering Manager in delivering a comprehensive maintenance strategy.
The successful candidate will oversee the implementation of our maintenance operations and lead a world-class engineering team.
Main Responsibilities:- Direct day-to-day site engineering maintenance activities, ensuring seamless collaboration with production streams.
- Drive the delivery of our Group Maintenance Strategy through effective team management and leadership.
- Lead a diverse team of multi-skilled engineers to consistently meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), focusing on proactive maintenance practices.
- Ensure strict adherence to current Health & Safety legislation and promote a safe working environment across the site.
- Achieve and maintain machine availability above 95% while ensuring 98% compliance with Preventive Planned Maintenance (PPM) schedules.
- Develop and implement robust maintenance plans, coordinating closely with production teams.
- Conduct thorough root cause analyses and implement targeted solutions to prevent recurring equipment failures.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives through active participation in Kaizen activities.
- Foster open communication channels, sharing critical information effectively across departments and the organization.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and production management on all maintenance-related matters.
- Conduct regular technical reviews with Factory Manager and Engineering Leads, maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Identify training needs within the team and coordinate relevant development activities.
- Maintain accurate asset data, documentation, and system backups, ensuring efficient information management.
- Lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives in partnership with CI Engineers.
- Develop and train staff on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure seamless adoption.
- Apply risk assessments to prioritize maintenance tasks, optimizing resource allocation.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years' management experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably within FMCG.
- Proven leadership skills with a track record of driving change and achieving results-driven outcomes.
- Strong understanding of maintenance and project management principles.
- Sound approach to H&S, Environmental Management, and Asset Maintenance strategies.
- Possession of key qualifications such as Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), project management tools, and technical drawings expertise.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Excellent organizational and budgetary control skills.
- Passion for continuous improvement and adaptability to changing circumstances.
