Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist in Haematology
This is a challenging role that involves leading a team of medical scientists and ensuring the highest standards of technical work in the department.
About the Role- To lead a team of medical scientists in performing their duties under the direction of Consultant Haematologists and the Laboratory Manager
- To ensure that the technical work carried out in the department is to the highest standard and reflects patient needs
- To provide guidance and support to medical scientists and laboratory assistants in the performance of their duties
- Participate in the selection, development, modification, validation and verification of methods
- Review, release, and report results
- Liaise with the Information Technology Systems Manager and ensure staff are adequately trained to make efficient use of systems
Selection criteria outline the qualifications, skills, knowledge and/or experience that the successful candidate would need to demonstrate for the successful discharge of the responsibilities of the post.
- Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience etc
- Possess one of the following NFQ Level 9 postgraduate qualifications or equivalent qualification at minimum Level 9 validated by the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine
