Overview of the Position
The Adult Support Worker will be responsible for providing individualised supports to individuals with a disability to enable them to live the life of their own choosing in accordance with the values of New Directions. This role involves working as part of a team within the adult day service to facilitate service owners with their daily programmes. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with a disability.

Main Responsibilities
- Provide individualised supports to individuals with a disability
- Facilitate service owners with their daily programmes in the adult day service
- Encourage and support opportunities to help develop a range of options for service owners in line with their person-centred plan

Requirements
Essential Criteria: QQI Level 5 in Care skills to include a module on special needs or Equivalent Qualification
Minimum of two years' experience working with adults with disabilities
Full clean driver's licence with no restrictions and be willing to drive Enable Ireland vehicles
Effective communication skills and good recording practices
Knowledge of social model of disability
Good understanding of Adult Protection and Lone working

Desirable Criteria: Experience of working with adults in a day service setting
Experience of working in community setting
Knowledge of person-centred planning and Key Worker system
Knowledge of New Directions guidelines
