Job Overview:
Vickerstock is delighted to partner with a leading Food Manufacturing client in the County Cavan area, seeking an experienced Engineering Stores Person. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Engineering Stores, ensuring parts are in stock and available to minimize downtime on the production floor.

Your Role:
The Engineering Stores Person will maintain accurate stock levels using part history and Min/Max levels, ordering the correct quantities. They will also track critical deliveries with suppliers, maintaining a clean and tidy stores environment and performing daily cycle counting and stock takes. Additionally, they will identify parts to correct specification, resourcing these parts from alternative suppliers to reduce costs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate stock levels and order correct quantities.
  • Track critical deliveries with suppliers.
  • Perform daily cycle counting and stock takes.
  • Identify parts to correct specification and resource them from alternative suppliers.
  • Receive parts, verifying accuracy and quality, and safely store incoming parts.
  • Check for damaged or missing items on deliveries.
  • Return and track damaged deliveries to suppliers for replacement.
  • Process requests for parts and orders with suppliers from quotations received.
  • Achieve and record all savings made through resourcing and replenishment of stock.
  • E nsure stores are clear and potential hazards dealt with quickly and efficiently.
  • Deal with suppliers to place orders and resolve delivery and invoice issues.

Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you must have at least 2 years' experience in a similar position. You should possess a strong understanding and application of forecasting principles, concepts, and practices. Experience using a CMMS system with knowledge of FIFO and Min/Max is essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, as well as the ability to prioritize and work accurately and efficiently in a busy working environment. High attention to detail and physical fitness are also necessary.
