Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Network Engineering Manager to lead our team of highly skilled Network Engineers in delivering world-class, fully automated network solutions for our global infrastructure. As we continue to expand at a rapid pace, it is crucial that we continually improve our network services and innovate new technologies to stay ahead.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of networking principles, large-scale distributed systems, and a proven track record of managing high-performing teams. They will be responsible for driving operational excellence, technical leadership, and network measurement initiatives that align with our company's goals and vision.

  • Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement network strategies that optimize efficiency and scalability.

  • Lead a team of 8-10 Network Engineers in achieving their career goals and delivering exceptional results.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network architecture that meets business needs.

  • Ensure the development and maintenance of high-quality network products and services.

  • Drive innovation and adoption of new technologies to enhance network performance and security.

  • Monitor and analyze network metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimize resource allocation.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

  • Recruit, train, and develop high-caliber talent to support team growth and success.

  • Partner with Amazon leadership to ensure alignment with business objectives and strategic initiatives.

Requirements
  • Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience.

  • Significant experience in engineering and management.

  • Proven expertise in networking, large-scale distributed systems, or related fields.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience in a large-scale enterprise environment.

  • Advanced degree in a related field (optional).

  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to contribute to and support long-term visions and direction regarding Networking at Amazon.

  • Experience in building and managing a team of strong technical people and prior ownership of the operation of a mission-critical team is crucial to success.
