Job Overview:

Ocean Modelling Opportunities

As a member of our research team, you will be involved in ocean modelling tasks for various projects. These include ECOCREDIT, WFD Futures and BIODIVER-COAST 2.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct simulations tailored to project needs using coupled physical-biogeochemical models of coastal environments.
  • Apply the Marine Institute's DEB model for Mytilus edulis to represent Ostrea edulis physiology.
  • Run time slice climate projections to examine changes in biogeochemical cycling in Galway and Dublin Bays.
  • Analyse existing model outputs to develop tailored services for aquaculture, oyster restoration and environmental monitoring.
Requirements:
  • EU citizenship or be married to an EU citizen with a Stamp 4 or Stamp 5 visa.
  • Reside in Ireland.
