We are currently seeking skilled Healthcare Assistants for acute hospital settings in Dublin.
Your Key Responsibilities:- Providing patient care and support with bathing, dressing, and grooming activities.
- Assisting patients with oral hygiene and denture care to ensure their comfort and well-being.
- Helping patients with walking, transferring from bed to wheelchair, and positioning in bed to prevent injuries.
- Encouraging and aiding patients in exercises and mobility activities as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Supporting patients with eating and drinking to meet their nutritional needs.
- Monitoring and recording food and fluid intake to ensure accurate documentation.
- Providing incontinence care and changing bed linens as necessary to maintain a clean environment.
- Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of medical equipment to prevent malfunctions.
- Sterilizing instruments and ensuring proper storage to maintain infection control protocols.
- Supporting nurses and doctors during examinations and procedures to ensure smooth operations.
- Providing assistance in wound care and dressing changes to promote healing.
- Maintaining accurate patient records to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Adhering to established hospital policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure quality care.
- Recording observations and reporting changes in patient condition to facilitate timely interventions.
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff to prevent accidents and infections.
- Patient Interaction: Providing companionship and emotional support to patients to enhance their overall experience.
- Degree or certification in Healthcare Assistance or related field.
- Experience working in acute hospital settings preferred.
- Ability to lift, move, and transfer patients safely.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques.
