Deputy Chief Executive Officer Job Summary

The Organisation of National Ex-Service Personnel is a registered charity for veterans of the Defence Forces in Ireland.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Chief Executive Officer to support our CEO in leading and managing the organisation while recognising the evolving and growing needs of veterans of the Defence Forces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the CEO with leadership and management, focusing on quality service, efficient resource use, and current/future development.
  • Enhance the organisation's reputation through strong leadership, effective governance, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Lead and motivate staff and volunteers to deliver on the charitable objective, values, and strategy.
  • Identify and manage joint ventures with third parties for the benefit of veterans.
  • Build relationships with key partners, including the Defence Forces, Department of Defence, and Charity/Community Partners.
Requirements:
  • Relevant third-level qualification or experience.
  • Proven leadership experience in a managerial position.
  • Experience in developing strategies and implementing vision.
  • Clear understanding of the organisation's ethos and issues affecting veterans of the Irish Defence Forces.
  • Familiarity with business functions such as marketing, PR, finance, accounting, etc.
  • Knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organisational and leadership skills.
  • Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
