About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join a leading Irish organization and contribute to the development of a world-class safety management system. As the Ingredients Health & Safety Officer, you will play a critical part in protecting our employees and stakeholders from harm and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive safety management system.
  • Providing technical expertise and support to managers to ensure legislative compliance and improve health and safety in the business.
  • Conducting regular risk assessments and implementing corrective actions and continuous improvements.
  • Ensuring all accidents and near misses are fully reported and investigated.
  • Developing and implementing health and safety procedures, policies, and documentation.
  • Identifying training needs and managing training records.
  • Liaising with external consultants and providing coaching to employees on positive health and safety practices.
  • Supporting the preparation of health and safety reports and monitoring metrics.
  • Attending safety committee meetings and coordinating the ordering of health and safety materials.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A relevant third-level Certificate qualification in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or food production company (desirable).
  • Thorough knowledge of current health and safety legislation.
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite and online management systems.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
