Job Title: Alcohol Support Specialist
Role Overview:
The role of an Alcohol Support Specialist is to provide comprehensive support services for individuals struggling with problematic alcohol use in North Dublin City and County. This involves delivering case management, treatment support, and outreach work to help clients overcome their addiction and achieve a better quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based interventions and key working sessions to clients with problematic alcohol use.
- Manage a caseload of clients and develop individualized care plans to address their unique needs and challenges.
- Support Clients in Addressing Personal Issues: Assist clients in dealing with personal issues related to their addiction and mental health, such as housing, welfare rights, medical treatment, and referrals.
- Outreach Work: Engage in targeted outreach activities, including home visits, inter-agency outreach, and detached street work, to identify and engage relevant clients across the CHO 9 area.
- Service Development: Contribute to the development of a central integrated care pathway in collaboration with the HSE and funded services.
- Design and deliver evidence-based workshops, group programs, and aftercare services tailored to the needs of the client group.
- Community Links: Develop and maintain links with statutory, community, and voluntary agencies to enhance service delivery and coordination.
- Identify Service Gaps: Identify gaps in service provisions and collaborate with relevant agencies to develop appropriate responses.
- Community Engagement: Engage in community development and networking activities within the wider CHO 9 area.
- Staff Support: Provide support and guidance to trainee and volunteer staff as needed.
- Supervision and Training: Attend line management supervision by the clinical service manager and participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities.
