Support Care Specialist

This position requires an individual who can provide essential care and support to women and children in crisis.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a social care setting and be able to work as part of a flexible team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide emergency accommodation for women and children subjected to domestic abuse.
  • Respond to the immediate needs of women and children in distress.
  • Support clients' care planning with keyworkers and other professionals.
  • Offer non-directive and non-judgemental information to residents and non-resident clients.
  • Operate the 24-hour helpline and respond compassionately to anyone seeking support.
  • Promote a safe environment for women and children during their stay.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Work according to best practice at all times.
  • Report any building maintenance requirements to management.
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are clearly understood and acted upon.
  • Maintain accurate records of client files and associated paperwork.
  • Liaise with other agencies to provide assistance, advocacy, and support.
  • Attend and participate fully in team meetings, training, and supervisions.
  • Represent the organisation's work and ethos in a professional manner.

About You:

  • Minimum Level 6 qualification in Social Care or related field.
  • At least 1 year's experience in a support or care setting.
  • Strong communication, IT, and record-keeping skills.
  • Understanding of domestic abuse and safeguarding practices.
  • Ability to work flexibly as part of a caring team.
