Job Opportunity: Product Development Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Product Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our cross-functional team, you will play a vital role in the development of new products with a focus on design for manufacturability and the implementation of manufacturing processes, test methods, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, development, implementation, and validation of manufacturing processes for new products.
  • Communicate process status and plans to cross-functional team members.
  • Participate in regular project meetings and reviews with cross-functional team members to track project status and follow up on action items.
  • Communicate with suppliers to understand and determine product process and equipment specifications.
  • Supervise or manage technicians, engineering interns, or associate engineers.
  • Document process development, including manufacturing procedures, protocols, and reports.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of product design, manufacture, and assembly techniques.
  • Estimate resource requirements, workload assignment, production times for manufacturing processes, train technicians, operations, and quality assurance on new design and process development and test methods.
  • Manage the manufacturing site selection process.
  • Participate as a subject matter expert and/or lead design and technology transfers to manufacturing.

Additional responsibilities include participating in regular project meetings and reviews with cross-functional team members to track project status and follow up on action items, communicating with suppliers to understand and determine product process and equipment specifications, supervising or managing technicians, engineering interns, or associate engineers, documenting process development, including manufacturing procedures, protocols, and reports, developing and maintaining knowledge of product design, manufacture, and assembly techniques, estimating resource requirements, workload assignment, production times for manufacturing processes, training technicians, operations, and quality assurance on new design and process development and test methods, managing the manufacturing site selection process, and participating as a subject matter expert and/or lead design and technology transfers to manufacturing.
