Plant Operations Specialist

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of all plant and equipment, driving operational excellence through proactive maintenance strategies.

  • Collaborate with Site Maintenance Managers, Planners, and API Maintenance Lead to execute the site maintenance program, delivering compliant, reliable, and efficient operations by leveraging data-driven insights and performance metrics.
  • Support the Reliability Engineer in executing Reliability Centered Maintenance initiatives to minimize downtime and optimize resource utilization.
  • Develop and lead a Root Cause Failure Analysis Program to identify and address underlying causes of equipment failures, reducing general equipment breakdowns and improving maintenance personnel's real-time problem-solving skills.
  • Work with the Reliability Engineer & Planning to establish and utilize reliability & work planning metrics/KPI's to monitor improvement and resource optimization (e.g., PM/CM ratio, schedule adherence).

Daily tasks include:

  • Performing start-up checks on machinery throughout the plant to ensure seamless production workflows.
  • Ensuring swift and safe breakdown resolutions at all times, minimizing disruptions to production schedules.
  • Implementing and following the preventative maintenance schedule to ensure records are completed accurately.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Repairing, servicing, and maintaining machinery to extend its lifespan and improve overall efficiency.
  • Ensuring the smooth running of the factory by identifying and addressing potential issues before they impact production.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a 4-year approved technical training program in mechanical or electrical repair and maintenance, coupled with relevant industry experience.
  • 2 years of electrical/mechanical experience or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education.
  • Leaving Cert, School Diploma, or Equivalent.

Desirable Skills:

  • Mechanical Engineering expertise, with a focus on predictive maintenance and root cause analysis.
  • Mechanical Site Management experience, with a proven track record of optimizing plant operations and resource allocation.
  • Knowledge and experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of lean principles and process improvement methodologies.
