Community Support Professional

Job Description:

Our organisation is seeking a highly skilled Community Support Professional to join our team. As a Community Support Professional, you will work closely with individuals who require support with daily living activities and routines.

As a valued member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support that promotes independence, dignity, and well-being. You will also play a key role in helping individuals learn new skills, understand their rights, and make informed decisions about their lives.

Key aspects of the job include learning about each individual's needs and preferences, adapting your communication style to suit their needs, and being patient and kind while working together as a team.

You will also assist with daily living activities and routines, including personal care, and help individuals engage in their community by identifying opportunities for socialisation, education, and leisure activities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of current legislation and regulations relating to the social care sector, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should also be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a full clean driver's licence and permission to work in Ireland.

Essential Criteria:
  • A full QQI level 7 Award in Social Care or Applied Social Care/Studies/Practice at degree level is essential, along with at least six months' recent experience working as a Community Support Professional supporting individuals with complex needs.
  • Eligibility to register with CORU as a Community Support Professional.
  • At least one year's recent experience working in a similar role.
