Medical Scientist Clinical Chemistry Role Overview

This is a challenging and rewarding position for an experienced Medical Scientist in Clinical Chemistry.

The successful candidate will have 2+ years post-qualification experience as a Medical Scientist in Clinical Chemistry, with ISO15189 accreditation being essential. They should also have experience working in a laboratory setting, conducting clinical chemistry tests, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of results.

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, with minimal supervision, and be self-motivated with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting clinical chemistry tests and ensuring accurate and reliable results
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment and performing routine maintenance tasks
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and standards
  • Collaborating with other laboratory staff to achieve team goals

Requirements:

  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant field (e.g., BSc in Clinical Chemistry)
  • 2+ years post-qualification experience as a Medical Scientist in Clinical Chemistry
  • ISO15189 accreditation essential
  • CORU registration required

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working in a lab in Ireland, the UK, EU, South Africa, Zimbabwe, or the UAE
  • Knowledge of laboratory information systems (LIS) and laboratory management software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
