Commercial Underwriter

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Underwriter to join our dynamic team in Dublin. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will play a crucial role in assessing and analysing risks associated with commercial insurance policies.

As a Commercial Underwriter, your primary responsibility will be to evaluate and underwrite insurance policies, ensuring the best coverage for our clients. You will work closely with our clients, brokers, and internal teams to ensure accurate underwriting decisions and provide exceptional service.

Our ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with brokers and clients to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and underwrite insurance policies
  • Collaborate with sub-brokers to understand their unique insurance needs
  • Develop and maintain successful relationships with clients, carriers, and colleagues
  • Stay informed about industry trends and regulations to provide expert advice
Requirements:
  • APA/CIP qualification or working towards same
  • Commercial experience i.e. Property / Liability / Motor / Fleet / New Business - Sales
  • Knowledge of insurance industry regulations and best practices
  • Excellent communication, Time Management, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suites in particular Microsoft Excel
