Specialist Radiation Oncology Nurse

We are seeking a Specialist Radiation Oncology Nurse to join our team at UPMC Hillman Cancer Centre, Waterford. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a role model and provide professional leadership in Radiation Oncology.
  • Provide specialist knowledge, consultancy, and expertise to staff, patients, and family members.
  • Advise on nursing care for patients undergoing Radiotherapy.
  • Maintain effective communication structures and interpersonal relations.
  • Provide education and advice to patients and their families on Radiotherapy treatments.
Requirements:
  • Current registration as a nurse/midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
  • Oncology qualification from an accredited institution or willingness to undertake course and in-house training.
  • Recognised post-registration nursing course (Higher Diploma or Post Grad course) or pursuit of same.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Cancer Care.
  • Ability to practice safely and effectively within scope of practice.
