The role blends hands-on technical depth with advisory work, helping enterprise engineering teams design defensible cloud foundations, reduce misconfiguration risk, and embed automation across their delivery workflows.You'll collaborate across multiple technical domains: cloud, identity, network, DevOps, and platform engineering, shaping the guardrails that keep distributed environments resilient and predictable.The RoleYou will lead the design, review, and validation of cloud security architectures across Azure-centric and hybrid estates. Expect a mix of strategy, design assurance, security automation, and hands-on work with identity, policy, IaC pipelines, and monitoring stacks. This is a senior role with influence, not a box-ticking function: you'll be expected to challenge design assumptions and help engineering teams make better decisions.Primary ResponsibilitiesArchitect secure cloud environments and validate design decisions across identity, network, data, and platform layersDevelop cloud security baselines, policy bundles, and guardrails for Azure and hybrid environmentsReview cloud architecture patterns and recommend improvements grounded in practical risk reductionLead security assessments and architectural walkthroughs, producing clear and actionable technical outputsDesign and maintain landing zone frameworks and automated deployment patterns using IaCIntegrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines and delivery workflowsStrengthen cloud observability: logging patterns, security signal quality, detection coverageSupport Zero Trust adoption across identity, device, access, and segmentation modelsProvide remediation guidance and partner with engineering teams to close design gapsMentor engineers, advise technical leads, and support threat-modelling sessionsContribute to long-term cloud security strategy and capability developmentSkills & ExperienceStrong background in cloud security architecture within large-scale Azure environmentsDeep knowledge of Azure identity, policy, monitoring, and security servicesAdvanced proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred, Bicep/ARM beneficial)Solid understanding of cloud networking, segmentation, and trust boundary designExperience integrating security controls into CI/CD and automated deployment workflowsFamiliarity with Zero Trust principles applied within cloud ecosystemsStrong knowledge of cloud security frameworks and regulatory driversAbility to produce clear technical documentation and architecture guidanceExperience collaborating with engineering, DevOps, and compliance groupsCloud and security certifications are beneficial but not requiredNice to HaveExperience securing multi-cloud (AWS or GCP)Familiarity with CSPM, CIEM, and cloud governance toolingUnderstanding of regulated-industry requirements and audit expectationsExposure to OT/ICS environments or hybrid platform designsBroader cybersecurity accreditations (CISSP, CCSP, CISM, Reperio Human Capital acts as an Employment Agency and an Employment Business.
