Flexsource/CPL are currently working in partnership with our client, The Irish Prison Services in recruiting Prison Officers (Trades) to support the maintenance and rehabilitation efforts within the prison system. This role includes responsibilities that align well with trade skills, such as: plumbing repairs and overall maintenance works.Your Responsibilities:Carry out plumbing installation, maintenance, and project worksComplete statutory checks, repairs, and reporting to relevant standardsMonitor plant and equipment, and maintain detailed maintenance recordsSupervise and engage with prisoners during maintenance tasks and daily routinesSupport prison operations, including security, safety, escorts, and structured rehabilitation activitiesWhat You Bring:A National Craft Certificate in Plumbing (or equivalent qualification)Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experienceMust be 18+ years oldStrong communication, reliability, and commitment to public serviceAbility to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary teamWhat IPS Offer:Competitive public sector salary and pensionStructured training and Higher Certificate in Custodial CareLong-term job security with opportunities for progressionWork that has a genuine impact on individuals and communities
