Social Worker - Adoption and Tracing Service

Cpl Healthcare in partnership in our client, Tusla Child and Family Agency, are recruiting two Social Workers to join the Adoption and Tracing team be based in Ballyfermont, Dublin 10

Details of the post:

As part of the social work team, you will work a half case load Adoption Information and Tracing relating to mother and baby home adoption search and reunion and a half case load of retrospective child abuse investigations triaged at low to medium priority.

Duties and Responsibilities of post:

Provision of counselling and support to survivors of mother and baby homes as defined by the mother and baby home commission.Support and counselling of clients in preparation for birth family reunionGenealogy and birth family searchingFacilitation of family reunification meetingsProvision of post reunification support and counselling to familiesConducting interviews with adults reporting retrospective abuseEngaging with persons subject to abuse allegations Assessment of any risks involvedThe reporting cases of concern, where appropriate

The candidate:

A recognised qualification as a Social Worker with CORU registration, or eligible for same Some experience working within a similar type of adoption or retrospective service, placement experience will be considered, we welcome applications from new graduates Experience working within children and families service would be considered.Excellent interviewing, report writing and counselling skills will be requiredPermission to work in IrelandProfessional approach to workFlexibility in work practiceAccess to a car and full drivers license
