The company operates a modern, high-volume production site and continues to invest in automation, equipment reliability, and operational excellence.Purpose of the RoleThe Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining, improving, and installing equipment across the production and packaging areas to ensure optimal plant performance and reliability. Working within a 24/7 operation, you will play a key role in ensuring production targets are achieved safely and efficiently, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and best-in-class maintenance practices.Key ResponsibilitiesCompliance & SafetyEnsure full compliance with all Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.Maintain a safe and organised work area in line with 5S principles.Promote a safety-first culture and report any hazards, incidents, or non-compliances promptly.Technical & OperationalExecute preventive and corrective maintenance on production and packaging equipment.Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and automation issues to minimise downtime.Perform statutory and electrical compliance checks, and support planned shutdown maintenance.Record all maintenance activities using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring accurate reporting and job traceability.Identify and implement improvements to PM schedules and asset care routines.Support capital and engineering projects as required.Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to optimise performance, yield, and reliability.Continuous ImprovementContribute to the plant’s Continuous Improvement (CI) and Focused Improvement programmes.Use structured problem-solving tools (5 Whys, RCA) to analyse breakdowns and prevent recurrence.Monitor equipment performance and implement measures to reduce losses and waste.Actively participate in reviews of SOPs, work practices, and maintenance standards.Teamwork & LeadershipCollaborate effectively within a multi-skilled maintenance team.Coach and mentor junior technicians and share technical knowledge across shifts.Promote the company’s values: Be Real, Be Remarkable, Be Responsible.Contribute to a culture of teamwork, accountability, and high performance.Qualifications & ExperienceRecognised Electrical, Electronic, or Automation qualification (essential).3–5 years’ experience in a medium-to-high-speed manufacturing environment.Experience in food, beverage, or FMCG production highly advantageous.Proven experience working with PLC, SCADA, and Industrial IT systems (Siemens desirable).Strong knowledge of maintenance best practices, lean manufacturing, and reliability-centred maintenance.Experience using CMMS systems for planning, recording, and tracking maintenance activities.Proficient in MS Office and familiar with ERP/CMMS systems (SAP advantageous).Basic commercial awareness, including understanding of cost drivers and budgeting processes.Personal AttributesStrong problem-solving and analytical ability with a Continuous Improvement mindset.Self-driven, organised, and results-focused with excellent attention to detail.Capable of influencing and collaborating effectively across departments.Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.Positive, proactive approach to challenges and change.What’s on OfferCompetitive base salary + shift allowance.Pension scheme, healthcare, and other company benefits.Opportunity to join a respected, growing Irish food manufacturer.Ongoing training and professional development.Supportive, collaborative engineering team environment.If you hold a recognised Electrical or Automation qualification and are eligible to work full-time in Ireland, we’d love to hear from you.Please apply with your most recent CV or send it directly to: I will respond with feedback within 24 hours of receiving your application.#LI-SG2Top of FormBottom of Form
