About Us

The Daughters of Charity Child and Family Service (DoCCFS) is a not-for-profit public service organisation, providing a wide range of therapeutic and supportive services to children and families across the greater Dublin region.

We work in close collaboration with Tusla – Child and Family Agency and operate across Dublin North, Dublin North City, Dublin Mid-Leinster and Dublin East. Our service model is child-centred, family-focused, and community-based.

The Dublin Safer Families Service is a specialist Gender, Sexual, and Domestic Violence service. It is unique in Ireland as the only organisation working with the entire family unit – including the perpetrator – with the central aim of creating safety for children and families, breaking cycles of abuse, and fostering long-term change.

We are now seeking an experienced and committed Family Worker Part time to join our Dublin Safer Families Service.

The successful candidate will work systemically with families experiencing domestic violence and abuse, with a particular focus on interventions with perpetrators to support change and accountability, and to increase safety for children and parents.

Key Responsibilities

Work directly with families experiencing domestic violence and abuse, with a specific focus on engaging with perpetrators.Collaborate with children, parents, and extended family networks to increase family safety.Deliver evidence-based interventions that reduce violence and support positive change.Maintain accurate case files and contribute to outcome measurement systems (e.g. Salesforce).Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating closely with social workers, therapists, and partner agencies.Contribute to service development and participate in reflective practice and supervision.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

A recognised degree in Social Care, Psychotherapy, Systemic Psychotherapy, Psychology, or Social Work.A minimum of two years’ professional experience in a similar role, working with vulnerable families or in the field of domestic violence.Strong skills in assessment, intervention planning, and family systems work.Ability to work with complex family dynamics with empathy, professionalism, and resilience.

Desirable:

Experience using mechanisms to evaluate outcomes of therapeutic or family work.Proficiency with case management and file-keeping software (e.g. Salesforce).Knowledge of trauma-informed practice, restorative approaches, and systemic models of change.
