We're seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our dedicated team based in Lewes. This is a long-term, stable opportunity with genuine potential for advancement into a Team Leader position. In this role, you'll be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of a range of heavy-duty equipment, including HGVs, loading shovels, forklifts, excavators, and diggers. You'll also play a key part in supporting the team by coordinating maintenance schedules and ensuring accurate digital records are maintained.

Your new role

Perform regular maintenance, servicing, and safety checks on HGVs and heavy plant equipmentIdentify mechanical issues and carry out necessary repairsAssist in planning and coordinating maintenance schedules across the teamRecord inspection results and maintenance activities using internal systemsAdhere to all relevant health and safety standards and regulationsCollaborate with team members and support general mechanical tasks as needed

What you'll need to succeed

At least 3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical fitting for plant, HGVs, or industrial machinerySkilled in diagnosing faults and performing repairs on HGVs, forklifts, excavators, and other heavy equipmentProficient in using digital systems to maintain and update service recordsSelf-motivated, dependable, and an effective team collaboratorExperience in a supervisory or mentoring capacity is advantageous.NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plant Maintenance or a related discipline (preferred)
