HVAC Project Engineer - Biotech Plant - Dun Laoghaire, DublinOffice/Project Location:Dun Laoghaire, DublinEmployment Type: Hybrid 3 days a week onsiteWork Location:  On Site with flexibilityPay: €60 - €70 per hourExperience: 10+ years Visa: EU passport or Stamp 4 visa requiredOur client is a leading international Biotechnology company with a state of the art aseptic manufacturing facility in Dun Laoghaire, South Dublin. The plant is one of the most dynamic in Ireland and is currently undergoing rapid expansion and capital investment. This is an excellent opportunity to get experience into Ireland's leading aseptic manufacturing plant.HVAC Project Engineer with relevant experience in design, installation, and commissioning of HVAC systems in pharmaceutical or regulated environments. The role involves client-side design input and oversight during the Basis of Design, Detailed Design, Construction, Commissioning, and Qualification stages for the Fill/Finish Facility at the site in DunLaoghaire. The HVAC Project Engineer will also contribute to ancillary project scopes including warehouse HVAC upgrades, -30°C cold storage areas, laboratories, and utility systems.Support client-side design team for all HVAC-related aspects of the Facility.Coordinate HVAC design and execution with Site SMEs and the Engineering Technical Authority (ETA).Lead client-side HVAC design reviews, ensuring compliance with standards and GMP requirements.Oversee the design and specification of air handling units (AHUs), chillers, exhaust systems, and air distribution networks.Ensure HVAC systems meet environmental and cleanroom classification requirements (ISO 14644, EU GMP).Review and approve drawings, URS, HDS, SDS, and equipment specifications.Support Factory and Site Acceptance Tests (FATs/SATs), commissioning, and qualification activities.Provide design oversight for integration of HVAC systems with Building Management Systems (BMS).Monitor installation quality, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate issue resolution during construction.Contribute to vendor selection, procurement, and technical evaluations for HVAC packages.Assist in troubleshooting system issues during start-up and qualification phases.Participate in cost and schedule reviews to ensure project objectives are achieved.RequirementsDegree-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or equivalent.Professional accreditation (e.g., CEng, ASHRAE, or equivalent) preferred but not required.Minimum 8–10 years of experience in HVAC design and project delivery within pharmaceutical or biopharma environments.Experience in GMP cleanroom HVAC design and validation.Strong knowledge of HVAC standards and regulatory guidelines (IS, EN, ASHRAE, ISO 14644).Ability to interpret and challenge design decisions, ensuring alignment with project requirements.Proficiency in HVAC design software and AutoCAD or Revit preferred.PackageContract role - Hourly rate €60 - €70 per hourMinimum 12 month contract with the possibility of an extension. These are projects that are going to run over for about the next two years.Onsite Expectations: While we can be flexible with some onsite expectations, the project is now entering the construction phase, which means the role will increasingly require onsite presence. Consequently, we need candidates who are willing and able to work onsite five days a week, as needed.
