The Irish Defence Forces are recruiting qualified Electricians to join the Naval Service as Direct Entry Electrical Artificers.In this role, you'll maintain and repair onboard electrical systems, including power generation, distribution, and automated control systems. Duties also include preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and participation in emergency response operations.Requirements:Citizenship: Irish citizen or EU citizenCharacter & Fitness: Must meet medical, physical, and security clearance standardsAge: 18–39 years on the date of applicationQualifications (or national equivalent):HETAC Level 7 in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Applied Physics & Instrumentation, or Marine ElectrotechnologyQQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft in Electrical, Electrical Instrumentation, or InstrumentationRecruitment Process:Includes a fitness test, competency-based interview, medical exam, and Garda vettingLocation: All assessments conducted at the Naval Base, Haulbowline Island, CorkSalary & Benefits:Basic salary: €49, with annual incrementsNaval Service Allowance: €20, (tax-free)Additional allowances for overseas service starting at €15,Private healthcare, dental, physiotherapy and mental health supportPension scheme, family leave, subsidised housing and mealsFree gyms, training, and sports programmesUniforms and protective gear providedExtra allowances for patrols, duties, and specialist skills#LI-MS3#LI-Onsite
