Senior Electrical Engineer – Data Centres - South DublinOffice Location: South DublinEmployment Type: Permanent or Contract rates availableWork Location: Office based / Hybrid Pay: €70k - €90k depending on experienceExperience: 6+ years in design consultancy Visa: EU passport or Stamp 4 visa requiredOur client is a leading multi-disciplined engineering consultancy providing design, fire safety and technical services to a range of sectors including; Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, Retail, Residential, Government & Commercial build.They are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong consultancy background to join their multi-disciplinary MEP team delivering large-scale mission-critical data centre projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for LV electrical design, compliance assurance, and technical coordination across a fast-paced site.Lead or support the design, review, and coordination of LV electrical systems including:LV distribution boards and switchgearUPS systems and associated battery solutionsDiesel generators (coordination and interface design only)Power factor correction, surge protection, earthing, and bondingGeneral lighting, emergency lighting, and external lightingSmall power and ELV systems (e.g., access control, CCTV)Coordinate with HV contractors/vendors for design interface (e.g., AVK, Aggreko)Prepare and review:Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)Load schedulesContainment and cable routing layoutsCompliance specificationsParticipate in WS4/WS5 validation and ensure technical compliance with BCaR and client specsAttend weekly site coordination meetings and resolve design queries in real timeLiaise with contractors, the M&E lead, and cross-discipline teams to ensure clean interface design and implementationContribute to compliance letters, RFI closeout, and technical documentationSupport end-user acceptance and approval processesMentor junior engineers and support continuous improvement in documentation standardsJob RequirementsDegree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalentMinimum 6 years’ experience in an electrical design consultancyExperience with data centres or critical infrastructure projects is requiredDeep knowledge of:LV power distributionUPS/generator topologies (N, N+1, 2N)Compliance with BCaR, ET101/ETCI, EN, and IEC standardsFamiliar with electrical design tools and workflows:AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, Dialux, etc.Zutec or similar for QA (a plus)Strong written and verbal communication skillsRight to work in Ireland (Stamp 4, EU passport, or equivalent)Package€70k - €90k DOE, contract rates also available21 days annual leave per annumCompany provided smart phoneCompany provided laptopCorporate branded PPEMembership of relevant industry institutes/professional bodies
