We vigorously advocate for fairness, respect, equality, diversity, inclusion, and engagement, and are dedicated to ongoing enhancement in these areas. Role OverviewAs a Senior Grade Occupational Therapist, you will take a leading role in providing a comprehensive range of occupational therapy services to children and young people (0–18 years) and their families. Working within a dynamic interdisciplinary framework, you will deliver expert assessments and interventions through a family-centred approach. You will take a leadership role in service development, provide supervision and mentorship to junior staff, and work collaboratively across clinic, home, school, and community settings. Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and manage a complex caseload, providing expert assessments and interventions. Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to staff grade Occupational Therapists and students. Take a lead role in service planning, innovation, and development within the occupational therapy discipline. Delegate tasks appropriately and facilitate the professional development of junior staff members. Work collaboratively with families and other agencies to ensure integrated, evidence-based care. Represent the occupational therapy profession at internal and external meetings. Act as a mandated person under the Children First National Guidelines, upholding the highest standards of professional and ethical practice. Qualifications & ExperienceEssential Criteria:Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU. ANDHave three years full time (or an aggregate of three years) post qualification clinical experience. ANDHave the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office. ANDProvide proof of Statutory Registration on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued. On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU. ANDPractitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to Enable Ireland. Desirable Criteria:Minimum 1 year post qualification experience of working with families and children with a range of physical disabilities/developmental delays. Experience of working with children 0 – 18 years and their families. Experience and/or training in clinical supervision. Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a children’s disability service. Experience of multi/interdisciplinary team working. Experience of supervising students/therapy assistants. What’s on OfferCompetitive Salary: A salary scale of €59, - €70, (pro rata). Generous Annual Leave: 33 days annual leave (pro rata), with additional days for long service recognition. Pension Scheme: Access to a contributory pension scheme, including income continuance and death-in-service benefits. Professional Development: A strong commitment to leadership development, continuous professional growth, and clinical supervision. Leadership Opportunity: A chance to lead, mentor, and shape services within a respected national organisation. Supportive Team Environment: Join a motivated, collaborative team committed to making a meaningful difference. Family Leave: Pay adjusted maternity, paternity, and adoptive leave to support your work-life balance. Sick Leave: Up to 13 weeks’ full pay and an additional 13 weeks at half pay (less social welfare offset) within a 12-month rolling period. Employee Assistance Programme (EAP): Confidential wellbeing and support services available to all staff. Bike to Work Scheme: Tax-efficient purchase of bicycles and equipment for commuting. TaxSaver Commuter Tickets: Save significantly on public transport costs. Contract Specifics: Location:Sandymount, DublinContract Type: Part TimeContract Hours:17.5 HoursTake the Next Step in Your CareerIf you are a skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist ready to lead, innovate, and make a lasting impact, we’d love to hear from you. Please note: A panel may be formed from this vacancy for any similar vacancies, which may arise during the next 12 months. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a medical assessment and Garda/Police clearance.
