The Shift Manager will manage shift employees to achieve key business objectives of product quality, order fulfilment, OEE, labour efficiency, health and safety and budget control. The Shift Manager will also act as cover in the absence of the Plant manager and support the Plant Manager in Operations as appropriate.The West Cork Supply Point is a strategic spray drying factory within the division, being a major supplier of infant formula to other plants within the networkMAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND KPI'SShift ManagementLead the Shift Team to achieve production targets/KPIsEnsure the highest standards of product quality, integrity and hygieneMaintain excellent standards of Good Manufacturing Practice and Good Housekeeping PracticeMonitor and control costsEnsure the safe working practices and conduct of the team, contractors and visitorsEnsure that team are properly trained and managed to work in a safe, quality conscious and effective wayMaintain positive working relationships and ensure effective communication at all levelsEnsure all work areas and equipment within your control are regularly and properly maintained to deliver optimum performanceDrive initiatives to maximise employee contribution and drive improvements in product quality and process/system efficienciesLiaise with QA & QC, logistics, technical and maintenance teams to achieve optimum resultsResponsible for Internal Controls as assigned to you by the Internal ControllerInterface with HR in relation to employee performance/development and any employee relations issuesUpdate relevant HR systems as requiredGeneral ManagementThe Shift Manager will be expected to cover for the Production Manager when absent and support the Production Manager in other areas of productionContribute to the overall department performance plan in the areas of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Motivation and EnvironmentDrive correct usage, maintenance and development of all production systemsFunctional COmpetenciesProfessional manager and leader with the highest standards of integrityProactive mind-set, consistently seeks out continuous improvementsStrong work ethic required with evident enthusiasm for the roleA team player who can galvanise support for achieving key objectivesCapable of taking the lead in changeRequirement for versatility in difficult situationsAbility to lead and motivate a diverse team of employeesMature outlook and ability to manage stressful and challenging environmentsGood reporting, writing and numerical skillsClear thinking individual who can resolve issues on their feet with a decisive personalityClear communication of their objectives and motivation of staffPROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS2 years' experience in a management/supervisory role in the food manufacturing Industry is requiredThird level qualification in a related field is desirableSAP/MES/Scada experience highly desirableA strong understanding of Microsoft Office is requiredProven problem solving and troubleshooting skillsAll applications will be treated with the strictest of confidence.Contact Jenn Dinan on 014408352 or apply via the link belowAt Wallace Myers International Recruitment Agency we specialise in sourcing professionals for key industries and services.
