Intern - Digital Communications Recruiting a Digital Comms Intern to support day-to-day activities, with a focus on digital marketing, organic social media, and SEO/ website content creation. The intern will support day-to-day activities, with a focus on supporting digital marketing, organic social media, and SEO/ website content creation.Overview of the RoleThe intern will contribute to Fórsa’s Strategic Plan, with a focus on a key goal of ‘Delivering effective communications at all levels’. They will support the union’s digital work on a day-to-day basis, and provide support for the development of its social media channels and website.In turn, the intern will be supported in developing the practical skills and knowledge needed for digital communications, as well as how to use digital for industrial relations and broader campaigns. Because of this, this internship would particularly suit someone who is either studying a relevant topic or is in an early stage of a career in digital areas.Working for FórsaAs an employer, Fórsa is committed to modelling the values of our union. A demonstrated commitment to the values of social justice, a strong public service, and workers’ empowerment is essential.Fórsa does not discriminate on the basis of gender, marital or family status, age, disability, race, religion, sexual orientation, or membership in the Traveller community.About Your Team You report to the Director of Digital You collaborate with colleagues in other departments across FórsaKey Responsibilities & Duties:Support the creation of content for digital communicationsUploading, scheduling, and monitoring paid social media and paid search ads, as well as organic social mediaEnsure SEO principles are implemented across the websiteSupport the creation of content for SEO website purposesAttend strategic planning sessions with other departmentsContribute to strategic digital communications planning sessionsOther reasonable tasks related to the roleHoursThis internship is 3 - 4 days a week (though this can be flexible based on the candidate’s circumstances), for 6 months commencing in early 2026. The intern will be expected to be available during normal office hours; however, due to the nature of the job, work outside of normal office hours and over weekends may arise. However, this will be avoided where possible. Overtime and formal time off in lieu do not apply.LocationThe role will be based at Fórsa’s head office in Dublin city centre. Hybrid work may be facilitated subject to operational requirements.TravelRegular travel within Ireland to attend events and meetings is an expected part of the role. Travel and Subsistence payments are made within the Civil Service rates and conditions.About YouEssential Skills and RequirementsExperience in and/or qualification in digital communications, including content creation, social media, SEO/websites. Those currently undertaking training/courses are also eligibleInterest in digital communication trends across different platforms, including social media, websites, and othersGood technical understanding of digital platforms, such as social media appsKeen understanding of marketing, with a focus on human interest stories, visual marketing, and an eye for compelling written copyThe ability to empathise and relate to people in a range of different and challenging situations.Works well as part of a team and under own initiativeIt would be nice, but not necessary, if you have the following skillsAn interest in the economic and social issues affecting working people in IrelandAn awareness of trade unions, social justice or Irish political structures
